is it spring yet? pretty please?
According to most traditions, the rusalki were fish-women, who lived at the bottom of rivers. In the middle of the night, they would walk out to the bank and dance in meadows. If they saw handsome men, they would fascinate them with songs and dancing, mesmerise them, then lead the person away to the river floor, to live with them. The stories about rusalki have parallels with the Germanic Nix and the Irish banshee. See Slavic fairies for similar creatures.

grey: it's a good thing. (i promise not to make a habit of quoting martha stewart, but let me off the hook just this once.)
living in a part of the country where grey is just reality inspired me to just embrace the hell out of it. grey days, grey moods, grey turtlenecks-- don't you just love it?! here is why it is such a blessing: grey makes even the most subtle of blues, the most gentle of greens, the most whispy of yellows seem like they have been dipped in electricity! grey can sometimes be the only way we appreciate the sun.
